Welbeck will opt for England rather than Ghana – Alex Ferguson
Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson believes that on-loan Sunderland striker Danny Welbeck will rather play for the senior national soccer team of England rather than Ghana.
According to Ferguson who is a Scot, he once advised Welbeck to play for England.
“He spoke to me some time ago about the Ghana thing. At the time I advised him to play for England” Ferguson told Sky Sports today April 1, 2011.
He added: “I think he will probably choose England.”
Ferguson said he doesn’t see a huge problem as far as England is concerned and that the obvious attraction of English football will push the player to opt for England.
Danny Welbeck, known at birth as Daniel Nii T. M. was born on 26 November 1990 in Longsight, Manchester, England to Ghanaian parents.
And debuted for the English national team a friendly with Ghana at Wembley, Tuesday March 29, 2011.
