Dr Nduom calls for calm ahead of election
Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party, wishing Ghanaians a Happy Easter, called on all not to betray the country by engaging in violent and insulting behaviors ahead of the impending elections.
He said: “Politics can be a means to a very positive end and as such Easter is a good time as any to show that the country can blossom a new …it is free and devoid of any disturbances that would mar the beauty of democracy.”
In a press release, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Dr Nduom said Easter is a special time of the year which coincided with change engineered by nature.
He said in some countries, it is a time flowers begin to bloom again, trees sprout green leaves as spring re-appears and in Ghana, it is a time of change as the dry weather says goodbye and welcome showers of rain.
He said the sacrifice of the only Son of God so that we could live should sober all men and women, especially politicians. “The fact that it took one of the Son of Man’s own disciples, Judas Iscariot, to betray Him and give Him up to His enemies should be a lesson to all.
“Let us give glory to God by working for a new beginning and the change we need, let this be an awakening that is truly unprecedented since the country needs a fresh new start and incorruptible leadership,” Dr Nduom stated.
