Ghana FA says Glo Mobile pays $1.2m as premier league headline sponsor

Ghana’s Premier League headline sponsor, Glo Mobile Ghana has paid $1.2 million to the Ghana Football Association as part-payment of its sponsorship of the league, a statement from the country’s football governing body said April 5, 2012.

“The bulk of the payment will cover commitments to clubs while the rest of the fees will be used to pay referees and other administrative costs involved in the running of the league,” said the Ghana FA on its website after President Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi and George Andah, Chief Operating Officer of Glo had a meeting last week.

Glo began its five-year partnership with Ghana football in December, 2008.
