SG-SSB names new Board chair
SG-SSB has appointed Mr Kofi Ampim as the new Chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors.
The decision was taken during the bank’s 280th Board of Directors meeting held in November 2012 upon resignation of Mr. Bernard David.
“…the Directors of the Bank appointed Mr. Kofi Ampim as the Chairman of the Board of Directors effective November 16, 2012,” SG-SSB in a December 4, 2012 statement copied to the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE).
Mr. Kofi Ampim is a graduate of Pace University; Lubin School of Business in New York with a degree in International Business and Finance.
He was, in 1994, appointed the first Ghanaian Country Representative of Societe Generale Bank and led Societe Generale Bank in 1996 to arranging $100 million Oil Import Facility for the Government of Ghana and financed other public multi-million dollars infrastructural projects.
Mr Ampim was appointed a pioneer board member of SG–SSB after SSB’s majority shareholding was acquired by the Societe Generale Bank in 2003.
Mr. Ampim is currently a Director on the Board of Total Oil Ghana Limited, Chairman of Belstar Capital Limited and the Chairman of Allianz Insurance Company Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of one of the largest insurance companies in the world.
