GNAT opens new office in Asante-Akim South
The Asante-Akim South District branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has inaugurated a new office block at Juaso.
It was built through contribution from members and support of the national headquarters.
Mr. Osborn Agyenim Boateng, the District GNAT Chairman, eulogized the past executives of the Association for their vision and initiative.
He said everything would be done under his watch to ensure that the building was properly kept for the benefit of future generations.
He used the occasion to make a plea to the District Assembly to reinstate the Best Teacher Awards in the area to motive the teachers.
Mr. Anthony Nantwi, the Regional GNAT Chairman, said the goal was to make sure that every district had its own office accommodation.
The GNAT, he said, would continue to protect the interest of its members.
Mr. De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE), in a speech read for him, congratulated the teachers for the decision to build their own office accommodation and gave the assurance that the teacher awards would be re-introduced.
