Ghana to issue GH¢300m five-year bond

The government of Ghana through the central bank will on August 23, 2012 issue a GH¢300 million five year bond to both resident and non-resident investors, a statement by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) has said.

The purpose of the bond issuance, the issuer said is “To settle government commitments falling due.”

It will be issued through an auction and “will be cedi-denominated”, according to the bond prospectus dated August 9, 2012.
