Ghana Elections: NPP leads after 142 certified results
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday took a leap forward in the December 7th Presidential Election in 142 certified results.
Electoral Commission (EC) certified results made available to Ghana News Agency, indicates that Nana Akufo Addo leads with 2,657,652 votes representing 49.15 percent.
Professor John Evans Atta Mills Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) follows with 2,594,752 votes representing 47.99 percent.
Total Valid votes cast in the 142 certified results is 5,407,186, total rejected votes is 127,476.
The Convention Peoples Party’s Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom occupies a distance third spot with 72,887 votes representing 1.35 percent.
The Peoples National Convention’s (PNC) Dr. Edward Nasigrie Mahama, is planted on the fourth spot with 43,611 votes representing 0.81 percent; Mr Emmanuel Ansah Antwi of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) fifth with 17,379 votes representing 0.32 percent; and Mr. Kwesi Amoafo-Yeboah Independent Presidential Candidate occupies the sixth spot with 11,461 votes representing 0.21 percent.
Mr. Thomas Ward-Brew of the Democratic Peoples Party occupies the seventh position with 5,155 votes representing 0.01 percent and Mr Kwabena Adjei of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats last with only 4,289 representing 0.08 percent.
