Ghanaian man arrested in US for threatening with machete

A call to police to investigate a domestic incident led to the arrest of a Watertown man on multiple charges Saturday afternoon.

Peprah Antwi Boasiako, 24, of 260 N. Pleasant Street, apt D-13 was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Harassment 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree when he was arrested at the residence of Sara Mae Clark on Arsenal Street Saturday afternoon, shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Investigators say Boasiako, a native of Ghana, was involved in a physical altercation with Clark in close proximity to two male children, ages 2 and 7.

Boasiako is accused of slapping Clark and the 7-year-old child, breaking a flip phone belonging to Clark and threatening the man who reported the incident with a machete.

Police allege Boasiako was also in possession of a fork modified with two of the prongs bent over and taped to the handle.

Boasiako was held a Jefferson County Jail until he was released Sunday after posting $1000 bail.
