Schalke deny Kingston move

German club Schalke 04 are not set to buy Laryea Kingston afterall. The Ghanaian midfielder is currently on the books of SPL side Hearts, where he has been for the last two years.

According to Schalke chairman, Clemens Tonnies his club has no intention of approaching the 28-year-old. However, the club is still believed to be shopping around for a midfielder, since they released Peter Lovenkrands and loaned Ze Roberto.

About three days ago news broke that the German club was offering £2 million for the signature of the Hearts and Ghana playmaker.

The reports indicated that the Bundesliga club was keen on seeing the Ghana international join its fold.

The reports even quoted Schalke officials as having asked Kingston’s adviser to provide detailed information about the player.

The 28-year-old has 18 months remaining on his Tynecastle contract and would be willing to stay with the club.
