Businessman in 1.9 million CFA American visa fraud
Ben Tokson, a businessman has appeared before a Hohoe Circuit Court for allegedly defrauding one Kwabla Ahadzi of 1.9 million CFA by false pretences to secure him an American visa.
Tokson, who pleaded not guilty has been admitted to a bail amounting to GH¢5,000 with two sureties.
The Court again ordered Tokson to report himself to the Hohoe Police once a week and together with his surety produce two passport pictures to the police.
He is expected to re-appear on July 24.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ben Y. Dadzie, prosecuting, said during the month of February 1999 at Hohoe, Tokson, with intent to defraud, obtained the consent of Ahadzi to part with 1.9 million CFA on the pretext of securing him an American Visa.
Mr Dadzie said the suspect then went into hiding until his arrest and prosecution.
