Brong Ahafo gets 18.6m euro water project
Mr. Kwadwo Adjei-Dwomoh, Nkoranza North District Chief Executive (DCE) has disclosed that about 18.6 million euros would be spent on the peri-urban, rural and small town water supply system and sanitation project, which was launched in the Brong Ahafo Region recently.
He said a total of 112 hand dug wells, 620 boreholes and 18 small town water systems would be constructed in a number of communities.
The DCE who made this known at stakeholders meeting at Busunya said Bono Manso and Busunya would benefit from the small town water system project.
Madam Fati Mumuni, Extension Service Specialist of the Water and Sanitation Agency Project, noted that the provision of potable water and sanitation facilities are necessary to promote good health and national development.
Madam Mumuni, who is in charge of Nkoranza North and Nkoranza South districts urged members of the two assemblies to carry out public education on the project.
She called on landlords and land ladies to construct household toilets to help improve on sanitation.
Mr. Benjamin Adu Darko, Presiding Member for Nkoranza North District called on members as well as the unit committees and traditional authorities to select priority development needs and mobilise funds to facilitate its implementation under the project.
