Failed Nigerian bomber in court today

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab

The 23-year-old Nigerian man who attempted to bomb a US airliner with an improvised explosive strapped to his underwear is appearing in a US court today Friday January 8, 2010 charged with terror offences.

The man, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was indicted Wednesday with six charges. The charges include attempting to use weapons of mass destruction and attempted murder of the 290 passengers and crew on the Amsterdam to Detroit flight.

Mr Abdulmutallab was badly burned when the explosive he hid in his underwear caught fire but failed to blow up as Northwest Airlines Flight 253 began its descent into Detroit.

He will appear in a federal courthouse in Detroit at 2.00 pm local time (1900 GMT).

Abdulmutallab was said to have been in Ghana on December 9, 2009 and stayed for two weeks before he travelled to Nigeria to embark on the journey to kill and die on Christmas Day, Ghanaian officials have said.

He is also reported to have bought the KLM air ticket for the trip in Accra.

Taking a decision to kill himself is a practice of ignorance and mostly on the christmas day. While every body is selebrating Jesus, one is at the corner planing evil against his precious soul which is the sole reason for coming of the Holy One who is been celebrated on Christmas. You see, it is a challenge to us (Christians) which shows that we have alot to do, many are still falling out of the way side and they need the word to be changed. please whereever you are try to extend the word of God to the People around you. thanks.

I think the failed attempt to bomb the us airliner was not by accident, it was divinely arranged to happen that way and farouk at this time does not need criticisms he only needs our sincere prayers-(yes we owe him that) because he ultimately needs Jesus in his life. A K A
