Jefate Microfinance launched
A microfinance organisation started by a group of university graduates three years ago has been formally launched.
The organisation which was started with an initial aim of training small scale business people like carpenters, barbers, seamstresses and traders has added a savings scheme to their activities.
The group has over 300 clients and about 600 applications are currently being vetted.
Mr. Effuate Emmanuel, Chairman of Jefate in a speech emphasised the need to give back to society as the reason for setting up the organisation.
He called on the government and financial institutions that are interested in seeing the youth make an impact on the society to assist the group to grow and create more jobs.
