Unemployed man remanded in prison for stealing mobile phones
Kobina Danso, unemployed, from Twifo Praso was on Monday remanded in prison custody by a circuit court at Twifo-Praso for allegedly stealing two mobile phones belonging to one Mr Samuel Osei, a herbalist.
The accused pleaded not guilty and would be re-arraigned on Friday, February 26.
Inspector John Konlan, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Seth Nyamekye that some time in April last year, thieves broke into the house of the complainant and made away with two mobile phones and a spraying machine all valued at GH¢500.00.
The prosecutor said, upon a tip off, Mr Osei identified the phones at a mobile phone shop at Praso and when the accused got wind of it, he went into hiding but on Sunday, January 10 this year, he was arrested from his hide out.
