"We are for you," President Mills assure Ghanaians
President John Evans Atta Mils on Thursday assured Ghanaians that government holds high the confidence they had reposed in the National Democratic Congress administration and nothing would betray that confidence.
“We are for you,” President Mills said and commended traditional authorities for their partnership with government to improve the living standards of the people and ensure a Better Ghana.
President Mills gave the assurance when a delegation from Techiman Traditional Area, in Brong Ahafo Region paid a courtesy call on him at the Osu Castle, in Accra.
The delegation led by Oseadeayo Akumfi Ameyaw III, Paramount Chief of Techiman Traditional Area, was to congratulate President Mills on the success of his first year in office.
They also informed him of the final funeral rites of the late Osabarima Dotobibi Takyi Ameyaw III, the immediate past Paramount Chief of Techiman who died in September 2003.
The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, February 27 to Tuesday, March 2, at Techiman.
President Mills promised the delegation of government’s support during the funeral.
He noted that politicians and traditional authorities have the same objectives to improve the living standards of the people.
Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister said the late Techimanhene served his people and nation well.
