Police earns GH¢2,190,5 from motor offences
The Volta Regional Police has realized a total of GH¢21,905 from motor offences in the first half of the year.
This represented fines imposed on 132 motor offenders in the region, Mr David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, Volta Regional Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency.
He said the quick prosecution of traffic offenders was reducing accident cases in the region.
He noted that 98 accident cases were recorded in the second quarter of the year as against 109 in the first quarter.
Mr Ampah-Bennin said crime in general was reducing and called for more collaboration from all stakeholders to make the region safer.
He commended the cautious manner in which the people in the region celebrated the victories of the Black Stars in the on-going World Cup, a result of which there were no major traffic accident.
