Ghana stocks recover substantially on Friday
The GSE All-Share Index saw a resurgence on Friday’s trading climbing 118.58 points to close the week’s session at 6,291.68 points from Thursday’s 6,173.10 points.
The appreciation was the second after the index plummeted three consecutive times from the beginning of the week on Monday, though Thursday’s gain was marginal.
There were eight price changes, out of which five were positive and three negative.
The five gainers; Golden Star Resources Limited (GSR) went up GH¢0.04 at GH¢2.88, Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) inched up GH¢0.02 at GH¢1.52, SG-SSB Limited (SG-SSB) rose GH¢0.02 at GH¢0.55, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) climbed GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.14 and State Insurance Company (SIC) scaled up GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.36.
The three losers were Enterprise Insurance Company Limited (EIC) which slid by GH¢0.23 at GH¢1.36, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) was down GH¢0.01 at GH¢1.56 and Accra Brewery Company Limited (ABL) dropped GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.08.
Traded volumes closed the session at 483,626 valued at GH¢207,244.29. Cal Bank Limited (CAL) led the pack selling 289,300 shares valued at GH¢83,882.00.
The Change Year to Date rose to 12.91 points as against 10.78 points on Thursday.
Market Capitalisation closed the session up for the week at GH¢18,042.92.
