Ghana stocks drop
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, dropped marginally by 4.01 points from 6,389.98 points to 6,385.97 points during Thursday’s trading.
The drop was the first in the week after the index rose successively for three times from Monday.
The Change Year to Date also dropped to 14.60, up from 14.67 recorded on Wednesday.
Traded volume closed the session at 592,146 shares valued at GH¢236,452.71. SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC) led the pack with 362,100 shares valued at GH¢134,022.00; followed by UT Bank Limited (UTB) with 88,700 shares valued at GH¢22,175.00 and Cal Bank Limited (CAL) had 62,600 of its shares valued at GH¢16,902.00 changing hands. Shares of 13 other equities were sold.
On the broader market, there were five price changes, three positives and two negatives. Enterprise Insurance Company Limited (EIC) led the gainers with a share price increase of GH¢0.06 to close trading at GH¢1.56; Ghana Commercial Bank went up by GH¢0.03 to close trading at GH¢1.75 and Fan Milk Limited appreciated by GH¢0.01 to close trading at GH¢8.02.
Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) and SIC lost GH¢0.03 each to close trading at GH¢2.87 and GH¢0.37 respectively.
Market Capitalisation was 18,252.43 million from 18,255.52 million issued shares.
