World’s biggest chocolate made from Ghana cocoa
The world’s biggest chocolate weighing 9,702 pounds has been made in Armenia and the cocoa used to produce it came from Ghana.
The Grand Candy factory in Yerevan, the capital of the former republic of the Soviet Union has therefore received the certificate entering the chocolate in the Guinness World Records as the world’s biggest chocolate.
The huge chocolate which will soon be divided and shared among the members of the public is 224 inch long, 110 inch wide and 10 inch thick.
Ghana is one of the world’s biggest producers of cocoa producing about 700,000 metric tons annually and that is about 21% of the world’s total, according to statistics from the UNCTAD, and Cote d’Ivoire produces about 1.4 million metric tons per annum, which is about 38% of the world total.
In Ghana 3.2 million people work in the cocoa sector.
