GRIDCO warns general public against encroachment of company lands

The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO) has reiterated its call on the public to desist from encroaching on its lands and facilities since they can endanger their lives in the process.

Mr Charles Darku, Chief Executive Officer of GRIDCO who made the call at the weekend, during a safety awareness walk for staff of the company said facilities and lands of the corporate entity at East Lagon, Dworwulu, Kwashieman and its environs are being encroached upon.

The 18-kilometre walk started from the Tema Community Centre at Community One, through communities four and seven, and ended with aerobic exercises at the Bethel Methodist Junior High School Park at Community Eight.

The walk which is part of the Company’s Safety Awareness Week Celebration was on the theme: “Emerging Risks and New Patterns of Prevention in the Power Sector,” was aimed at drawing the attention of the staff to safety issues at the workplace, as well as their health safety.
