Ghana stocks inch up
The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, inched up 3.58 points to close Thursday’s session at 6,865.85 points.
This brings the gains made so far this year to 23.21 per cent.
There were six price changes – four gainers and two losers. Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) led the gainers with a share price increase of GH¢0.07 to close at GH¢5.45; Golden Star Resources Limited (GSR) gained GH¢0.06 to close at GH¢6.00 while Total Petroleum Ghana Limited (TOTAL) and UT Bank Limited (UTB) were up GH¢0.01 each to close at GH¢9.21 and GH¢0.27 respectively.
Accra Brewery Company Limited (ABL) and Cal Bank Limited (CAL) lost GH¢0.01 each to close at GHc0.11 and GH¢0.28 respectively.
Traded volume closed the session at 135,701 shares valued at GH¢138,293.12.
Of the 16 equities that sold shares, UTB led the pack with 57,100 of its shares valued at GH¢14,709.00.
Market capitalisation closed the session at GH¢19,927.19 million.
