Orientation workshop on Reproductive Health underway in Ho

A three-day orientation workshop on Reproductive Health for out-of-school-youth from four assemblies in the Volta Region started in Ho on Tuesday.

The beneficiary assemblies are Ketu-South, Keta and Hohoe municipalities while Ho Municipality is partnering Adaklu District.

Forty (40) participants comprising 10 from each of the assemblies are participating in the workshop, which is on the theme: “Improving the Utilisation of Reproductive Health Services- Through Networking and  Co-ordination of Out-of-School Youth.”

The programme is being organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Youth Council to raise the knowledge of vulnerable youth on reproductive health.

The United Nations Population Fund Activities, is sponsoring the project, which is expected to raise the awareness of the participants on reproductive health including, issues on sexually transmitted diseases.

Topics to be treated include, Conceptual Framework for Population Advocacy and Education, Basic Counselling Skills in Reproductive Health Education and Social Mobilisation for Reproductive Health Education.

Participants would serve as the nucleus for propagating the programme objectives in their local communities.
