Ghana stocks end week strong

The GSE All-Share Index, on Friday continued its impressive gains to close the week’s trading up at 101.84 points, pushing the Index from 7,136.19 points on Thursday to 7,238.03 points.

Characterised by five bulls and two bears in 13 equities, the rise in the Index now brings the gains so far this year to 29.89 per cent.

The five price gainers were Total Petroleum Ghana, which was up by GH¢0.06 to close at GH¢9.51; Benso Oil Palm Plantation gained GH¢0.02 at GH¢0.72;

Aluworks Limited rose GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.17, Ecobank Transnational Incorporation also went up at GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.15 and State Insurance Company which also made GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.43.

The two losers were Ghana Commercial Bank, which fell GH¢0.04 to close at GH¢2.69 with Cal Bank Limited dropping GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.29.

UT Bank Limited sold the highest number shares during the session, accounting for GH¢8,604 shares worth.

A total of 129,935 shares were traded worth about GH¢50,111.72.

Market Capitalisation closed the session at GH¢20,192.88 million compared to GH¢20,102.38 million at the previous close.
