Chairman of Football Association gets office
The Chairman of the Regional Football Association (RFA) has for the first time got a permanent office, which is the first in the history of the administration of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Sports Council.
Mr Augustine Asante, the RFA Chairman ensured the long over-due facility at the Coronation Park in Sunyani became a reality through his instrumentality.
Until recently, successive past chairmen shared a “make shift” general office with two of the Council’s staff in-charge of the day-to-day administration of the Council.
During a visit to the Coronation Park on Tuesday, GNA Sports witnessed the final packing of office files and other related documents of the RFA Chairman to the newly-constructed permanent office.
Mr Asante who has endeared himself to the hearts of football lovers in the Municipality since assumption of office told GNA Sports that the construction of the office cost GHC 35,000.
Source of funding for the project came from affiliated fees of teams and through registration for regionally-organised football competitions and other fees authorized by the laws of the game in the Region, he said.
Mr Asante said that the new block which comprises the Chairman’s office, two toilets and store was started in February last year and completed in November.
