Tarkwa Municipal Chief Executive inaugurates GH¢300,000 development projects
Mrs Christina Kobinah, Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive on Wednesday inaugurated a number of development projects in the Municipality, valued at GH¢301,768.52.
The projects comprised a six- unit- classroom block at Mile 5, a renovated primary school block at Bonsa, nine- unit- classroom block at Brenuakyim, six- seater water closet toilet facility and two boreholes at New Atuabo and Zongo Railway Quarters.
Mrs Kobinah noted that the provision of social amenities by the government was aimed at improving the socio-economic development of the nation.
“Though the demand keeps increasing on daily basis, the provision must be done systematically to meet the aspirations of each community,” she said.
Mrs Kobinah asked parents to make the education of their children a priority to help transform the fortunes of the municipality.
Mr James Baidoo, Linguist of New Atuabo expressed appreciation to the assembly for the provision of the boreholes to the community.
He observed that previously, residents had to walk for almost six kilometres daily to get potable water, which he said affected the development of the community especially women and children.
Mrs Gifty Kusi, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem expressed appreciation that the projects which started in October 2008 had been completed.
