VCC lauds government for commitment to human resource development
The two public universities to be established in the Volta and Brong-Ahafo Regions would help facilitate the human resource development of the nation, the Ashanti Regional Voltarian Coordinating Council (VCC), has noted.
It observed that Ghana was still lacked the necessary human resource to push her development, particularly in the areas of health, education, science and environment which had slowed down the nation’s ability to achieve a breakthrough in her development agenda.
The Council urged stakeholders in education, corporate bodies and philanthropists to be supportive of the two projects to help complete them on time in making tertiary education accessible to all.
This was contained in a statement signed by Togbe Mawufeame Fugah, President of the Council and issued in Kumasi on Sunday.
The Statement indicated that “much as government was confronted with limited resources in fully meeting the aspirations of the masses, it was incumbent on it to explore avenues in investing heavily in education at all levels”.
This is because education remained indispensable in developing the other sectors of the economy as it helps in churning out a highly-skilled manpower needed to spearhead the nation’s progress.
The statement lauded government for the initiatives in developing the human resource of the nation and hoped this would go a long way in creating job opportunities for the increasing population.
