Buipe market gets GH¢57,000 water closet toilet facility
The Central Gonja District Assembly has provided an 18-seat water closets toilet facility at the Buipe market at the cost of GH¢57,000.
The facility was financed from the District Assembly Common Fund and the District Development Fund.
Mr. Salisu Be-Awuriebe, District Chief Executive who inaugurated it on Monday, said it was part of the numerous projects being undertaken.
He said the facility would be managed temporarily by the District Assembly under the District Environmental and Sanitation Unit and later handed over to a private entity to manage.
Mr. Be-Awuriebe urged the people to patronize the facility and avoid freeing themselves in the bush which has the tendency of causing cholera and other related diseases.
He also urged the management of the facility to take good care of it to yield revenue for the development of the area.
Mr. Mahammed Amadu, District Environmental Health Officer who received the keys to the facility, pledged to take good care of the facility to ensure that revenue was generated for the Assembly.
