ONE8 musical group to release debut album in March
The African supergroup, ONE8, lead by R&B Singer Robert Kelly is set to release its debut album next month, the CNN says.
The group is putting some few touches together before the album comes out and it would be under the record label of Rockstar 4000, a unit of Sony Music.
“The supergroup is now putting the finishing touches to its album, which will be released next month on pan-African record label Rockstar 4000, part of Sony Music”, says CNN on February 22, 2011.
Even though the title of the album is not yet known, it has already had a backing from ONE8’s leader R. Kelly and has tipped the group for a global stardom this year.
The group, made up of eight African musical superstars includes Ghana’s Hip-Life trio 4X4, Amani from Kenya, 2Face from Nigeria, Zambian singer JK, Ugandan hip-hop star Navio, Tanzanian bongo superstar Alikiba, Fally Ipupa, from the DR Congo and Gabonese rapper Movaizhaleine.
ONE8 made its debut single “Hands Across the World” in November last year and was produced by R. Kelly.
“Hands Across the World” is also the official song for telecommunications giant, Airtel in Africa.
