Ghana stocks fall as Ecobank, Total lose
The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, fell 11.53 points to close at 1,064.83 points from 1,076.36 points.
The year-to-date now stands at 6.48 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also gained 14.75 points to 1,040.47 points from 1,055.22 points with a year-to-date change of 4.05 per cent.
There were seven price changes during the session – six down and sole gainer.
Total Ghana fell GH¢0.19 to GH¢15.30, SG-SSB was down GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.72 and Ghana Oil Company dipped GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.29.
Other decliners were Ghana Commercial Bank dropped GH¢0.02 to GH¢2.48, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated shed GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.14 and CAL Bank was lower GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.27.
Standard Chartered Bank is the sole gainer, up GH¢0.02 to GH¢49.92.
Market capitalisation closed the session down at GH¢19,885.17million.
Some 1.63 million shares worth GH¢421,990.98 were traded during the session.
