NPP delegates urged to exercise good judgment
New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to parliamentary candidate in the Asante-Akim South Constituency, have been urged to exercise good judgment and act in the best interest of the party.
Mr Adarkwah Yiadom, the Constituency Secretary, urged the delegates not to allow themselves to be influenced but rather vote according to their conscience.
Five candidates have filed their nominations to contest the parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
They are the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mrs Gifty Ohene-Konadu, Mr Asante-Boateng, immediate past Constituency Chairman, Mr Kwabena Akomea Nketiah Sakyi, Businessman, Mr Charles Nana Yaw Osei, Lawyer, and Mr Edmund Oppong Peprah, Lecturer at the Kumasi Polytechnic.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Juaso, Mr Yiadom said, all should accept to play by the rules to help to sustain the unity of the party.
He said the election was purely an “internal family affair” and everything should be done to ensure that whoever emerged winner would have the support of all.
He urged the candidates to conduct clean campaign devoid of insults and acrimony.
The Constituency Secretary gave the assurance that the party’s leadership would continue to maintain level playing field for the candidates to canvass for votes.
