Beach Sports Association organizes referees’ clinic
The Ghana Beach Sports Organization (GBSA) will organize a beach soccer referees’ clinic on Friday, April 8 at the Press Centre of the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.
The one-day event forms part of series of seminars and courses penciled by the Association under the auspices of the National Sports Council (NSC) aimed at developing beach sports in the country.
A statement signed by Bawah Fuseini, General Secretary of the GBSA copied to the GNA Sports on Thursday, said the event is also geared towards the commencement of the impending maiden Beach Soccer League.
He said 15 referees will take part in the one-day event and will be schooled through the International rules of beach soccer sanctioned by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA) Francis Oti Akenteng, who doubles as the Technical Advisor of the GBSA will be one of the resource persons.
Meanwhile, the GBSA has extended the registration of teams for the League to Friday, 22 April, 2011.
Fifteen Clubs have so far registered including Assurance Beach Soccer Club, Togbe Youth Club, Global Support Union, Chorkor Blue Whales, Miracle FC, East Legon Shacks, Osu Sea Lions, Keta Youth Beach Club, Cape Coast Beach Club and James Town Octopus.
