Portia Solomon selected for CNN/MultiChoice African Journalist Awards 2011
A former student of the African University College of Communications (AUCC) has made it to the final list of this year’s CNN/MultiChoice African Journalist Awards.
Ms Portia Solomon, who is currently a news anchor at Ghana’s TV3 Network, the biggest private TV station in the country, was named in the list.
Announcing the list today at the CNN Studio which was put on the Facebook fan page of the competition, the Panel of Judges made up of Kim Norgaard, Arlindo Lopes, Zipporah Musau, Pedro Pinto, Ikechukwu Amaechi, Jean-Paul Gerouard, Ferial Haffajee and Joel Kibazo indicated that out of the 27 finalists, Portia Solomon and Mr Kofi Akpabli, a freelance journalist for the Daily Graphic are the only Ghanaians who made it to the final list.
Portia picked-up two awards at the last Ghana Journalists Association Awards.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
