ZoomLion gets three awards for keeping Ghana clean
ZoomLion Ghana Limited, has this year alone grabbed three prestigious awards from reputable institutions at separate functions internationally and locally, following its untiring efforts at ensuring the attainment of a clean and healthy environment in the country.
On Friday, April 15, 2011, the Chief Executive Officer of ZoomLion Ghana, Mr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong received an award as the Best Entrepreneur in Environment & Sanitation for 2010 at a special event organized to commemorate this year’s World Entrepreneurship Day at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra.
The awards ceremony, which was organized by the Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana, sought to honour distinguished Ghanaian entrepreneurs for their outstanding entrepreneurial achievements in sustaining economic growth, financial success, employment generation and innovations in Ghana.
Other prominent award winners at the esteemed event were Mr. Kofi Amoabeng, CEO of UT Bank, Mr. Roland Agambire, CEO of RLG Communications, Mr. Osei Kwame Despite, CEO of Despite Group of Companies and Mr. Ken Ofori Atta, CEO of Data Bank Financial Services.
Commenting on the award after the ceremony, Mrs. Doris Adjei, the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of ZoomLion, who received the award on behalf of the company’s CEO, expressed his appreciation and that of the entire company for such high profile recognition.
“We are extremely humbled by this award as it does nothing but goads us on to deliver to the utmost”, she stated. “It is very refreshing and encouraging to know that our contributions to the development agenda of our dear nation is being recognized and appreciated”, Mrs. Adjei added.
In a similar development, the Tema Achievers’ Excellence Foundation has also honoured ZoomLion Ghana Limited for its contribution towards environmental sanitation and beautification of Tema.
The company received this award during the second edition of the Foundation’s award scheme, which is designed to honour excellent inhabitants and corporate bodies in Tema for their dedicated and meritorious service towards the development of the Metropolis.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, the Assistant Operations Supervisor for ZoomLion in Tema, Mr. Felix Amankwah, expressed profound joy that the immense contributions of ZoomLion to the overall development of the Tema Metropolis has been recognized by a foundation of very high repute.
Mr. Amankwah expressed gratitude to the organizers for such honour and pledged that ZoomLion will continue to fight environmental sanitation challenges until the Tema Metropolis becomes filth-free.
On the international front, Zoomlion Ghana has received commendations for the good work it is doing in Ghana and Africa and was honoured at the Times of Africa Excellence Awards held in India on March 30, 2011.
Nana Yaw Sarkodie, a representative of the Chief Executive Officer who received the award, expressed profound joy at the recognition ZoomLion Ghana has been given on such a high profile platform. “This will certainly serve as a great impetus to us to do more for our country and the entire African continent,” he told the organizers.
