Christians should focus on spiritual things – Priest

Pastor Harold Kojo Conduah, Head Pastor of the Aboadze Holyfire Chapel, has urged Christians to desist from carnal desires of the flesh and focus their attention on spiritual things.

He said the passion and desires of the flesh had been crucified with Christ therefore all those who claimed to be followers of Christ should crucify all those carnal passions in order to inherit the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Conduah, who was delivering a sermon titled: “Resurrection Power – Newness of Life,” on Good Friday called on Christians to live above reproach and follow the footsteps of Christ Jesus.

“Our old self had been crucified with Christ and therefore we are not slaves to sin any longer and should offer our body as instrument of righteousness to Christ and do not allow sin to reign on our mortal body,” he said.

Pastor Conduah indicated that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Good Friday brought peace, salvation and new life for mankind.

He said Jesus died for mankind as part of his redemption mission on earth to enable man to have peace with God and urged Christians to use the day to renew their relationship with Jesus.

Elder Stanislaus Kofi Nyame said the salvation that mankind have is by the grace of God and not by any individual’s own works saying Christians should not boast but humble themselves so as to inherit the Kingdom of God.

He entreated Christians to endure all the difficulties of this world in order to be crowned in Heaven because the saints also passed through worse experiences during their time.
