Best Farmer calls for checks on weighing scales

The Best Farmer for Birim Central Municipality, Mr Kofi Boakye, has called on the Ghana Standards Board (GSB) to conduct constant checks to verify suitability of weighing scales used by cocoa marketing clerks.

Mr Boakye told Ghana News Agency at Akim Oda, on Monday that this would help check manipulation of weighing scales by some clerks, to prevent cheating of unsuspecting cocoa farmers.

He expressed worry that there was no proper supervision by accredited authorities like the GSB to check illegal practices by clerks.
