NYEP Film and Television module beneficiaries receive equipment
Ahaji Issahaku Salia, Upper West Regional Minister on Thursday presented equipment valued at GH¢15,000.00 to 21 beneficiaries of the Film and Television module of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in the region.
The equipment which include; a computer and a video camera are expected to help the beneficiaries to shoot and edit their movies.
The beneficiaries have completed three months of training in acting, camera handling techniques, directing, script writing and editing at the Ghallywood Academy of Film and Acting in Accra.
Alhaji Salia said the focus of the NYEP programme was not only aimed at giving training to the youth but also equipping them with the necessary tools to gain self employment.
He said the government would expand the programme to cover many areas and urged the youth to explore and take advantage of the opportunities available.
He advised the beneficiaries to be disciplined and dedicated to their work by diligently using the tools they had acquired.
The Regional Minister expressed the hope that the tools would enable them to hit the market soon with quality movies and other services that would be patronised by the public.
Mr Sanni Mohammed, Regional Co-ordinator of the NYEP said his outfit NYEP would continue to identify young people with talents and support them to become useful to the society.
Mr Dramani Mahama, Leader of the group expressed his gratitude to the government for the support, adding that the equipment would be a great help to their work.
