Mr. Torgbor Mensah receives Best Ghana Advertising Entrepreneur award for 2010

Mr. Torgbor Mensah, Executive Chairman of Great Argon Holdings, the largest Integrated Marketing Communications Group in Ghana, has once again been honoured with the Best Entrepreneur Award in Advertising for 2010 at the recently held Ghana Entrepreneur Awards ceremony in Accra.

Receiving the award, he expressed gratitude for the honour done him, adding that entrepreneurs in the country need to be recognised from time to time to enable them assess their performances and contributions to the national economy.

The event was put together by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana in partnership with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was to honour, inspire and recognise entrepreneurs who have strived and excelled to the top in their various fields of operations

The occasion dubbed “Recognising the exceptional contribution of Ghanaian Entrepreneurs” coincided with the commemoration of this year’s World Entrepreneurship Day, an event which is celebrated 24 hours around the globe on the second Friday in April.

In an exclusive interview, he said “If we as entrepreneurs are acknowledged for our works, then we know that, there is a yardstick that is being used to measure our output in order to know whether we are progressing in adding value to the human and capital development of our motherland or otherwise”.

He said entrepreneurs are the backbones that are driving economies around the world in this 21st century and therefore a country like Ghana, which is striving to create more jobs and fight poverty must not take for granted the entrepreneurial spirit.

He advised the youth to develop the passion for entrepreneurship by taking advantage of the numerous entrepreneurship development platforms that are being organised by corporate institutions and NGOs in the country.

“Our young men and women should not wait for employment but rather create those employment themselves but it also behooves on the government to continue to create the enabling environment that will help to sustain those enterprises our youth creates”, he added.

Mr. Torgbor Mensah dedicated the award to all the Staff of the Great Argon Group, which comprises Infocus PR, DDP Outdoor Limited, Adams JWT, MediaCom Ghana Limited, Insight Grey Advertising, MPG Mediaplus, Africa Media Warehouse Panaroma Graphix, Mediacom Senegal, Mediacom Togo, Mediacom Benin, Media Cote d’Ivoire, DDP Mali and DDP Niger, for their excellent support and commitment throughout the years.

Mr. Torgbor Mensah is a Graphic Designer by profession and an entrepreneur who has over thirty (30) years experience in the advertising sector with other business interests such as Digital Printing and Real Estate.

Affectionately called Mr. Tee, his personality is seen by many as synonymous to advertising both in Ghana and beyond the borders of Ghana.
