University of Ghana suspends Mature Students Entrance Examination
The University of Ghana on Tuesday said it had suspended, until further notice the conduct of any entrance examination for the admission of “mature students”.
A statement issued in Accra by Mr J.M. Budu, the Registrar of the University, said “For the avoidance of doubt, no “Mature Students Entrance Examination” will be held in 2011.”
He said consideration of candidates, who took the last examination held in February 2011 for admission into the University for the 2011/2012 academic year, is not affected by this decision.
The statement said the suspension of the Mature Students Entrance Examination was part of an on-going re-assessment of the academic programmes of the University, and new modalities for admitting various categories of fresh students were being developed by the University, which would be announced in due course after approval by the Academic Board.
