Ghana’s soul singer Rhian Benson to perform at London School of Economics
Ghanaian born singer Rhian Benson, will be performing live at the London School of Economics (LSE) on June 6, 2011 at the school’s Arts and World Bank event.
Rhian Benson, who is a former MOBO Award winner and also an alumna of the school, will be giving students an exclusive live acoustic performance at the Shaw Library of LSE.
After the performance, She will also interact with students about her life at the school.
“An exclusive live acoustic performance by award-winning artist and LSE alumna Rhian Benson, followed by a conversation with journalist Emma Warren, discussing Rhian’s time as a student at LSE, as well as her subsequent musical achievements and her involvement with World Bank’s ‘Young Africans Talk Development’ initiative”, a statement published on LSE’s website has said.
According to the Press Office of the school, all tickets for the event which is based on request had been exhausted.
Educated at LSE and Harvard, Rhian worked at an investment bank briefly before leaving to care for her ailing mother.
Rhian, a singer and a songwriter, released her first album titled ‘Gold Coast’, in 2003.
Her latest album is called “Hands Clean” and is making hits in the UK and across Europe and the US.
