FC Basel denies Tagoe interest
Swiss champions, FC Basel have denied interest in Black Stars striker Prince Tagoe ahead of next season.
Reports are rife in the local media suggesting that the player has reached an agreement to join the Basel-based club on a two-year contract.
The report adds that TSG Hoffenheim are prepared to give out the striker if FC Basel can meet their prize tag of US$9 million.
An official of FC Basel told GNA Sports via phone that there has been no such discussion regarding a move for the 23-year old Ghanaian striker.
“There is no move for Prince Tagoe at the moment. If there is any move, we will come out public,” the club’s spokesperson said.
Tagoe impressed on loan at Serbian club, Partizan Belgrade scoring 12 goals in 18 matches and guiding the club to a double.
He joined TSG Hoffenheim after a stint in the Gulf region where he played for Al-Ittihad, Al Shabab and Al-Ettifaq.
Tagoe has scored seven times in 28 appearances for the Black Stars.
