Amansie West Assembly steps up revenue mobilization
The Amansie West District Assembly, has intensified its revenue mobilization drive, to generate more funds for development projects.
Mr Charles Oti-Prempeh, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said the assembly had bought a Nissan pick-up, to enhance revenue collection.
Out of the 2010 estimated revenue target of GH¢213,800.00, the assembly collected GH¢199,068.68, representing 93.11 per cent.
The DCE, who was addressing the first ordinary meeting of the assembly at Manso-Nkwanta, said during the period, total receipts of its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) stood at GH¢600,452.47, adding that it was expecting GH¢1,312,236.45 from the Fund.
Mr Oti-Prempeh said that the assembly was expecting GH¢1,919,068.94 from the DACF and that the money would be used to complete on-going projects, including school blocks, health facilities, a library and sanitation facilities.
He said the assembly was determined to bring progress to the people to better their living conditions.
The meeting unanimously approved of the assembly’s revenue and expenditure budget of GH¢2,140,347.78 for 2011.
