Prof. Karikari appointed member of South Africa Press Freedom Commission
The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Professor Kwame Karikari has been appointed a member of the South Africa Press Freedom Commission.
Professor Karikari becomes the only non-South African member on the Commission which was launched in Johannesburg on Thursday July 7, 2011, a statement copied to ghanabusinessnews.com from MFWA on July 11, 2011 says.
Made of up nine persons, the Commission, which is an independent body, is chaired by Justice Pius Langa, former Chief Justice of South Africa with Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, head of the Cape Town Anglican Church named as one of the members of the body.
It is set up to look at the regulation of print media in South Africa, the statement said.
