SIC Insurance named headline sponsor of National Unity Games

State Insurance Company Limited, (SIC) the nation’s number one insurer has got the rights as the headline sponsors of the National Unity Games, fixed for July 17-27, at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra and other selected venues in Accra.

SIC assumed the role of the main event sponsors with a supporting package of GH¢25,000 towards the organization of the event.

Benjamin Acolatse, Managing Director of SIC in a statement issued to the GNA Sports said the company is excited by the rekindling and resuscitation of the Games after seven years of absence.

He said the contribution of SIC to the success of the Games is to support the event to help unearth budding talents and unite the country in its socio-economic goals.

Mr Acolatse said the sponsorship by SIC is an indication of the company’s desire to keep faith with the development and promotion of sports in the country.

He added that the annual sponsorship of the SWAG’s Nyemitei Cup and the recent support for the 10th anniversary May 9 Stadium Disaster are among their corporate responsibilities.

Over 5000 sports men and women from the ten regions, the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) and the Security Services Sports Association (SESSA) will vie for honours in the 20 sporting disciplines.

Outstanding athletes will be selected for the impending All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique and the Olympic Games in London.
