Volta Regional sports team urged to be good ambassadors at National Games
Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister on Thursday urged the Region’s sportsmen and women to the upcoming National Unity Games to be “good ambassadors” of the Region.
He advised them to exhibit high sense of discipline, good attitude and ensures that they garner more medals and bring laurels to the Region.
Mr Amenowode gave the advice at the end of a four-day Volta Regional Unity Games in Ho.
The event was to select competent athletes and to raise formidable teams to represent the Region at the National Unity Games which takes off on Sunday, July 17 in Accra.
Mr Amenowode urged the athletes to go all out to exhibit their talents and justify their positions in the Regional teams.
Keta Municipal Area emerged overall winners after they collected 15 gold, ten silver and nine bronze medals ahead of Ho and South Tongu who came second and third respectively.
Mr Gabriel Missodey, Volta Regional Sports Development Officer described the event as very successful and urged the various Municipal and District Assemblies to invest in their youth and give them the opportunity to discover their sporting talents.
