US philanthropist donates medical equipment to Kwesimintsim Polyclinic

A philanthropist based in the United States of America, Mr Augustine Arthur, has donated medical equipment worth $7,000 to the Kwesimintsim Polyclinic.

The items included aprons, nose masks, tubes, gowns, artery forceps, and headgears for pregnant women in labour, among others.

Mr Ernest Arthur, Assemblyman for Kwesimintsim Electoral Area, who presented the items to the polyclinic authorities at a short ceremony at Kwesimintsim on Thursday, said touched by the plight of the hospital, the donor, mobilized personal resources to purchase the items to support them.

Receiving the items on behalf of the polyclinic, Dr. Abdul Razak Mohammed, who deputized for the medical superintendent of the polyclinic, expressed gratitude to the donor for the gesture and pledged to put the items to good use in ensuring quality service delivery to the citizenry.

He said the items had come at an opportune time when the polyclinic was in dire need of such medical equipment and called for God’s abundant blessing to the donor.

The Chief of Kwesimintsim, Nana Ogozi Essoun III, appealed to individuals, non-governmental organizations and corporate entities in the Region to emulate the shining example of the donor and support the polyclinic, saying the government alone cannot provide all the needs of health facilities in the country.
