Bolgatanga Municipality records substantial infrastructure development
The Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly has recorded a number of infrastructure developments and handed them over to user agencies such as Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Health.
The Municipal Chief Executive Mr Edward Ayiriba Ayagle said this when interacting with the media on the recent development projects in the Municipality.
He said: “A total of six projects including school blocks, health facilities and a water closet toilet facility were handed over to the assembly for onward release to user agencies and communities.”
These, he said, include a GH¢76,450.00 three-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities in the Nyariga community which has been handed over to the Ghana Education Service, whiles a similar three-unit classroom block has been completed in the Soe-Yipala community and handed over.
He said the block in Soe-Yipala which is now in use, cost the Assembly GH¢77,150.50.
Mr Ayagle said the Baptist Junior High School in Bolgatanga has been completed and it includes a three-unit classroom block with corresponding facilities like an office, toilet and stores.
He said the newly completed school blocks would encourage many parents to send their children to school and increase enrolment in places which hitherto had no structures.
Mr Ayagle said two CHPS compounds had also been completed and handed over to the authorities of the Ghana Health Service and added that one of the completed CHPS compounds situated in Katanga was completed at a cost of GH¢78,450.00.
He said another CHPS compound was being constructed at Yarigabisi at a cost of GH¢78,670.00 and added that the Municipal Assembly would assist the Ghana Health Service to furnish them so as to commence the provision of health services to the people.
He said: “Pregnant women in these communities can now have access to antenatal care while other community members can also visit the CHPS compounds for their basic health needs”.
Mr Ayagle said a GH¢54,193.97 10-seater Water Closet toilet facility had been constructed for the Atulbabisi electoral area and was now in use.
