Stanchart loss pulls Ghana stocks down
The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rose 8.83 points to close at 1,177.89 points from 1,186.72 points.
The loss leaves the year-to-date gain at 17.79 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also went down by 9.65 points to 1,137.55 points from 1,147.20 points with corresponding year-to-date change of 13.76 per cent.
There were four price changes, equally shared between the gainers and the losers.
Ecobank Ghana gained GH¢0.02 to GH¢3.48 and Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited was up GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.49.
Cocoa Processing Company was down GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.02 and Standard Chartered Bank shed GH¢2.00 to GH¢62.00.
Market Capitalisation was down at GH¢20,399.18 million cedis from GH¢20,442.44 million cedis.
Total traded shares were 460,252 shares, valued at 1.17 million cedis.
