Leader of Biafran war Ojukwu reported dead
The man who led the separatist group that led to one of the bloodiest civil wars in Africa known as the Biafran war is reported to have died today, August 10, 2011.
Dim Chukwumeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, according to unconfirmed information on social networks Twitter and Facebook died at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in London. Efforts by ghanabusinessnews.com, however to seek confirmation from the hospital was unsuccessful as there was no response from the hospital when a call was put through from Ghana.
Since December 2010, there have been rumours that Ojukwu had died. He has been ill for some time now. The man who was born in 1933 is an iconic figure among the Igbos of Nigeria.
