Nkoranza Teachers Credit Union gets new agency at Busunya
Mr Seth Badu, Board Chairman of the Nkoranza Area Teachers Cooperative Credit Union has noted that, regular savings and prompt recovery of loans, create a better financial base for the growth of any financial institution.
Speaking at the launch of the Union’s agency at Busunya, Mr Badu asked members of the Union to exhibit good practices, to establish trust and confidence with management and enhance the activities of the Union.
He said the Union was a viable banking institution with a solid foundation and that for the past seven years, the Union had maintained its Grade ‘A’ category status of the Credit Unions Association of Ghana (CUA).
Other credit unions have been visiting the Nkoranza Union to understudy its good administrative practices to help improve theirs, he said.
The Board Chairman paid special tribute to the former Manager of the Union Mr Philip Asante-Kudom, for his hard work and tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the 33 year-old Nkoranza Area Credit Union.
Mr Benjamin Kudom, Manager, said the Union operates four services; current and savings accounts, special savings and money transfer, and urged the public to patronize the Union’s activities.
He said customers could purchase more shares to enjoy the laudable plans and programmes arranged for shareholders.
The Manager commended Mr Samuel Fosu, from Busunya, for providing the Union with office accommodation until the Union put up its own permanent facility.
In an address read for him, Mr James Appiah-Kusi, Nkoranza North District Director of Education called on the youth and teachers in the district to patronize the operations of the Union to enhance their economic activities.
He also commended the management of the Nkoranza Area of the Union for opening the agency at the district capital to help improve the lot of the people.
