Ghana Stock Exchange down on Ecobank loss
The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, fell 7.84 points to close at 1,177.24 points from 1,185.08 points.
The bourse has thus returned a year-to-date gain of 17.72 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also dipped 11.41 points to 1,122.23 points from 1,133.64 points with corresponding year-to-date change of 12.22 per cent.
There were four price changes– a gainer and three losers.
Standard Chartered Bank shed GH¢0.01 to GH¢6.00, Ecobank Ghana down GH¢0.01 to GH¢3.50, and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated fell GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.14.
The sole gainer was Ghana Oil Company which went up GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.32.
Market Capitalisation closes the session at GH¢48,399.46 million.
Total volumes traded were 351,222 shares, valued at GH¢79,801.
